The Media ASYLUM and The International Colorist Academy (ICA) present ‘Colorist Strategies’ and ‘DaVinci Resolve’ training courses, conducted by freelance colorist and co-founder of the ICA, Warren Eagles.

ICA Certification Program
Topics covered include basic Color Theory, Digital and Film Workflows, Telecine and Lab History, working with Clients and of course lots of cool stuff on looks and styles.

All students on this course receive an ICA Certificate and are entered into the ICA database so that they can provide references when asked.

BASIC: Colorist Strategies with DaVinci Resolve (3-days, US$1,580)Read more

This three-day hands-on course will give all first time users with no previous knowledge of color grading or Resolve experience a great start with exciting new color correcting software. The class mixes the operational side of Resolve with some practical real world training on workflows, basic color theory, grading approaches and techniques. If you are not interested in the operation side, you will still learn a lot by just watching, listening and joining in discussions with Warren and your fellow learners.

The goal of this course is to ideal for Junior colorists, editors, VFX artists, DPs and basically anybody creative who wants to further their knowledge on Color Correction.

This class expands on topics covered in ‘Colorist Strategies with DaVinci Resolve’. Students are encouraged to bring their own material so Warren and the other students can grade and discuss the different formats and the challenges they bring.

The Master Class is a great insight into how famous looks and styles are created. This course is an ideal follow up to Colorist Strategies, and other intermediate classes.

Students are encouraged to bring their own footage.

The goal is to achieve new looks from old techniques. We look at grading styles and looks that are frequently requested and discuss not just how to achieve them, but what cultural meanings or concepts they impart on a project.
